THE INSTITUTE OF GEOPOLITICS is an independent, non-governmental research institution that aims at exploring the area of geopolitics as well as promoting and popularizing knowledge on geopolitics. It was founded on 23rd of June, 2007 in Czestochowa by young people of Polish origin. It is considered to be so-called “think tank”, which means non-governmental organizations that take part in public discussions on subjects important to the public. The Chairmen of the Institute of Geopolitics is Mr Leszek Sykulski, the Vice Chairmen is Mr Radosław Domke. The President of the Academic Council of the Institute of Geopolitics is Prof dr hab. Piotr Eberhardt. The Institute of Geopolitics carries out number of research in the field of geopolitics, offering integrated analyses, spanning to thematic issues of several dozen of knowledge domains. The IG constantly observes international events in the field of politics, military affairs, economy affairs, politic-military shake-ups and changes in geopolitical predominance courses. The scope of interests of the IG includes activity of particular geopolitical entities both in epigeosphere as well as undertakings in the field of taking advantage of outer space. The Institute is a promoter of the annual Polish Geopolitics Convention. The supervisory authority of the IG consists of: the Chairmen, the Board and the Control Department. The advisory body is the Academic Council. Activity of the IG is covered by the Administrative Office, International Contacts Office and Publishing Office. Research and analytical activity is based at Studies and Analyses Department. It consists of thematic committees as well as special teams and units. Promotional activity regarding didactics is carried out by independent Instructive Committee. |
